Privacy Policy — Polar Bear Helps

Effective date: 2026-03-28
This privacy policy applies to the Polar Bear Helps mobile application (“the App”).

1) Who is responsible for the App?

The App is developed and maintained by the author: Sławomir Polarny
Contact: slawomir.polarny@gmail.com

2) Does the App collect personal data?

No. The App does not require an account, does not provide user registration, and does not collect, transmit, or sell personal data.

The App does not use ads, analytics (e.g., Firebase/Google Analytics), or tracking/profiling.

3) What information is stored on the device?

The App stores only basic settings locally on your device, such as:

  • whether the filter is enabled/disabled,
  • the last selected filter strength.

This data stays on the device and is removed when you clear the App’s data or uninstall it.

4) Accessibility Service (important disclosure)

The App uses an Accessibility Service strictly to:

  • display a color filter overlay on the screen,
  • temporarily hide the overlay on critical system screens (e.g., permission dialogs or call UI),
  • enable an accessibility shortcut to toggle the filter.

The Accessibility Service is not used to:

  • read or capture typed text (including passwords),
  • record the screen,
  • collect data from other apps,
  • transmit accessibility events off the device.

5) Internet usage and external links

The filter works without internet access.
If you choose to use features like:

  • Contact by email, or
  • Buy Me a Coffee link,

the App opens an external app (email client or web browser). Any data you share then is handled by those third-party apps/services under their own privacy policies.

6) Data sharing with third parties

The App does not share user data with third parties because it does not collect or transmit such data.

7) Data retention

Local settings remain on the device until you:

  • change them,
  • clear the App’s data,
  • uninstall the App.

8) Security

The App minimizes stored information to essential local settings only and does not run a backend server for user data.

9) Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the App evolves. The current version should be made available on the developer’s website and/or the Google Play listing.

If you want, I can also prepare a very short “Data Safety / Accessibility API statement” specifically for the Google Play store description, which often helps during review.
